Entering the Sacred Earth valley, you already feel the vibrant energy of this truly enchanting place, that was already a sanctuary hundreds of years ago. It offers the perfect atmosphere and facilities for true retreats with large groups, with ample space shalas, outdoor decks and comfortable accommodation of different styles.
Although being only a short drive away from the beautiful Atlantic coast with its numerous amazing beaches, in this valley you find nothing but peace, privacy and vibrant green nature, offering the perfect connection to the elements.

Visionary concept, amazing retreat facilities and an atmosphere of relaxed happiness
Sacred Earth offers sustainable comfort for up to 60 guests, providing lots of different accommodation options, from studios and dorms located in the main house to tipees, bell tents, bungalows and even an extraordinary tree house immersed in the enchanting forest.
The main house is the heart of the centre where the group meets to enjoy delicious vegetarian meals carefully prepared by our creative chefs, with most of the vegetables being harvested from the permaculture garden, thus supporting a toxin free and conscious nutrition. At the bottom of the gardens the bio pool invites you for a swim, and as a special feature you can grab a tube and drift down the valley in the water canal, effortlessly being taken along with its flow. The spa area where you can enjoy relaxing massages is equipped with a sauna and a tub that can be turned into an ice bath (additional costs for the ice apply).
A sacred place for life changing experiences immersed in nature
Being a family project, Sacred Earth has been created as a place to facilitate reconnection, and gives charismatic teachers space to expand, share, enjoy, heal and transform. For your indoor practice choose between two large shalas: the Panoramic Shala, that offers open views over the native forest through its´ large panoramic windows and provides space for up to 50 students, making it the perfect place for yoga or workshops, as it´s equipped with a sound system and heating. For a more meditative approach we recommend to teach in the Temple Shala embracing you with calm and peaceful energy, as this renovated traditional building is home to the statue of the Holy Lady of this ancient worshipping place.
To deepen the connection to nature even more, why not enjoy your sunset session on the 150 sqm rooftop panorama terrace, with views over the valley? Or you might prefer the forest deck, sheltered by cork oaks, completely connected to earth. And to include performances, fire ceremonies or workshops the rustic amphitheatre offers a perfect stage.

Features Sacred Earth Retreat
Venue:
– Main house with kitchen, indoor dining (80 m2) and common area with sofas, terraces with outdoor furniture and chill areas
Accommodation:
– Suites: 6 private independent suites all with own private bathroom, hammock, wifi and central heating. Most of them can be prepared as twin or double room.
– Main house: the house can host up to 25 people. There are two suites, both with twin beds, a
dorm room with 8 bunkbeds and a mezzanine with 5 futon beds. The house has 4 bathrooms and has easy access to the independent
community showers, for man and women, so no one needs to wait. There is also an independent suite with 2 connected floors which can hold 6 people (3+3) with a toilet and sink (shower is external)
– Independent Studio: traditional Portuguese adobe house, with a privilege view of the creek and valley. It is very
central and has easy access to all areas, particularly the meditation temple and the mandala garden. The studio can host up to 6 people. There are two floors/rooms, each with 3 single beds. It also has a bathroom and shower.
– Bungalows: The 4 Bungalows are charming shelters located in a more secluded area, with beautiful vistas to the Valley. Each one of them has their own private bathroom and hot showers. There is also an outdoor bathtub with a breathtaking vista over the forest. The bungalows 1 and 2 can take up to 4 people each. Bungalows 3 & 4 take 1 and 2 people. They are ideal for the ones looking for a more private space, but are 100 meters away from the centre.
– Tree House: The treehouse is a unique art piece, One double, with two tree branches inside. It has its own independent bathroom with hot water shower and eco toilet. It has electricity and wifi on demand. Available from April to mid October, weather permitting.
– Tiny House: The Tiny House is very charming shelter, with its own wood burner and private outdoor bathroom. The bathtub has an
astonishing view to the valley. With 2 porches, is equipped with a hammock and wifi. Ideal for one person or a couple (double bed). Ideal for the leader, close by but private.
– Glamping: LOTUS GLAMPING The Lotus Room is a unique experience in a fruit orchard, with 3 single beds, next to the creek and
sacred fountain. Has own hot shower and eco toilet. Has its own leisure area with hammocks. Available from April to end of September, weather permitting.
